1. How to delete your account
From inside the app
- Open the RemitClick app and sign in.
- Open Settings from the side menu (web) or your profile (mobile).
- Scroll to the Delete Account section at the bottom of the page.
- Tap Delete and confirm. Your account is closed immediately and you are signed out of all devices.
If you can't sign in
Email engineering@imarasystems.com from the email address on your RemitClick account, with the subject line “Account Deletion Request.” Our team will verify your identity and process the request within 30 calendar days.
2. What we delete
When you close your account, the following data is removed from our active systems within 30 days:
- Profile photo and optional profile details
- Saved recipients and counterparties
- Wallet preferences and notification settings
- Push notification tokens and device identifiers
- In-app support chat history
- Marketing and communication preferences
3. What we keep, and for how long
RemitClick is registered as a Money Services Business (MSB) with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), Registration Number M23456340. Under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Regulations (PCMLTFR §s. 6.1), money service businesses are required to retain certain records for five (5) years after account closure. These records are preserved securely and then permanently deleted:
- Identity verification records: full legal name, date of birth, address, nationality, ID document type and number, issuing country, expiry date
- Transaction records: date, amount, currency, sender, recipient, payment method, transaction reference
- Sanctions and PEP screening results
- Compliance alerts and audit trail
- Receive request records linked to your account
After the 5-year retention period expires, all data associated with your closed account is permanently deleted from our systems and from our identity and payment partners (Veriff, Kuda, Apaylo, BVNK).
4. Outstanding balances and active transactions
For your protection, you cannot delete your account while you have:
- An unsettled wallet balance
- A pending or processing transaction
- An open receive request awaiting payment
- An active compliance hold
Please withdraw your wallet balance and let any in-flight transactions complete before requesting deletion. If a compliance hold prevents you from closing your account, our team will contact you with next steps.
5. Data deletion without account deletion
You can update or remove some of your personal information without closing your account by editing your profile in Settings. Information protected by FINTRAC regulations (identity records, transaction history) cannot be individually deleted while your account remains open — to remove it, you must close the account and wait for the regulatory retention period to elapse.
